Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me

Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me

“And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”  (Mark 10: 47) (KJV)

Blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, who sat by the highway side begging heard that Jesus Christ is passing by that way. But when he heard the sound of multitudes he understood that the King of Kings is passing by his way right then. He couldn’t withstand the pain in his heart that he couldn’t see Him. Throughout his life he was blind but for this particular moment he never wanted to be blind. He wanted to see his Saviour. This ongoing urgency made him to shout to the Lord,

“Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” (Mark 10: 47)

Yes, thought people around him charged him not to shout he never listened instead he shouted more loudly,

“And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10:48)

What a great desire!!! He never wanted miss his chance which he got. His faith stood firm though the people around are against him. Later we could see that Jesus Christ asks to the very same people who charged him to bring him to Jesus.

“And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.” (Mark 10: 49)

Yes! Even in your life if you stand firm on your faith and seek the Lord with all your soul, all your might whoever is standing against you saying that you are a sinner how Lord will answer you and depress your heart by their cunning words will vanish away. When Lord answers you He will honour you before the very own eyes of those who stood against you.

Do not think that God is not listening to you, but He is increasing your faith. Because without faith you can never expect miracles from the Lord! Here we could see that Bartimaeus received his sight and followed Jesus praising Him.

“And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” (Mark 10:52)

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

So friends have faith in the Lord and wait on His safe arms that you will be raised at the prefect time! Amen.
