Seek good

Seek good

[gn_heading style=”1″][gn_button link=”#” color=”#4b0082″ size=”5″ style=”5″ dark=”0″ radius=”10″ icon=” target=”blank”]Seek Good [/gn_button][/gn_heading]

“Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.” (Amos 5:14) (KJV)

Friends Seeking goodness is most important as departing from evil. For our Lord is Good, the one who seeks Good will find the Lord!

“The counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom” (II Samuel 16:23)

Ahithophel, a man who was filled with Heavenly wisdom. He was a counsellor of King David. We could read from the above verse of how great is his wisdom. Yes, his counsel was like the Prophecies of the Lord! The Lord honoured him with the Wisdom of Counsel.

[gn_pullquote align=”left”] He saw all the mighty miracles done by the Lord in the life of David and he very well knew that the Lord has anointed David as the King. But failed and departed from good.[/gn_pullquote]

But we could see that he stood against the Anointed one of God (David the King) and joined Absalom. He saw all the mighty miracles done by the Lord in the life of David and he very well knew that the Lord has anointed David as the King. But failed and departed from good.

“When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.”     (II Samuel 17:23)

[gn_pullquote align=”right”] The Lord blessed David for his unfailing trust and love over the Lord! Though he knew that the Lord has chosen him over Saul as a king he never boldly went and killed Saul but waited for the time of the Lord![/gn_pullquote]

Yes, the same verse in the very next chapter of Bible says that he hanged himself and died! Friends, even today let us review our life, we might be filled with the Spiritual riches but are we seeking good? Or we are following the evil thinking that it is the good one? Situations will change but the Word of God never ever changes.

See the life of David though he has got many chances to kill Saul, the one who is chasing him all along to kill David. He never touched Saul, Bible says, even when he tore the edge Saul skirt his heart smote him,

“And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt.” (I Samuel 24:4)

The Lord blessed David for his unfailing trust and love over the Lord! Though he knew that the Lord has chosen him over Saul as a king he never boldly went and killed Saul but waited for the time of the Lord!

Friends, this is what Pleases the Lord. We could see that Jesus Christ mentions Himself as the son of King David! What a great blessing!

“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.” (Romans 12:17) Amen
